As a workplace relations specialist, Mary Ann supports employers, governments, organisations, unions, teams and associations that wish to resolve issues involving mental health, psychological safety, conflict or performance concerns.
Mary Ann has been called the “Godmother of Psychological Health and Safety”. She served as co-chair of the Technical Committee for the National Standard of Canada on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, was a member of the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s Workforce Advisory Committee, and a member of the Employment Standards Committee for the AODA.
Mary Ann is the author of several books in the field of workplace mental health including “The Evolution of Workplace Mental Health in Canada: Toward a standard for psychological health and safety”.

Millie Thompson
Manager Workplace Wellbeing
Millie Thompson is the Manager Workplace Wellbeing for the Ministry of Social Development, New Zealand’s second largest public service agency, where she leads their strategic approach to psychosocial safety and wellbeing. Having previously worked for the New Zealand Defence Force and WorkSafe New Zealand to support better health, safety and wellbeing performance, Millie instigated and led the Government Health and Safety Lead’s focus on psychosocial safety within the New Zealand public sector as the Principal Advisor for Mentally Healthy Work.
With a background in organisational psychology, Millie has also contributed to regulatory guidance on psychosocial safety in New Zealand and worked with Massey University to establish a psychosocial safety professional development programme for practitioners. Millie is also currently completing her
