Bio

Lauren is a Health and Safety professional, commencing her career in the Resources industry 23 years ago.

Lauren started her mining career working Fly In-Fly Out in WA and the NT for 14 years, providing strategic and tactical health and safety expertise across construction, processing, exploration, and surface and underground mining operations.

Lauren left FIFO to start her family, and created her own business consulting to small-medium contracting companies on the practical application of health and safety management systems required to work with larger companies.

Lauren has now been with Rio Tinto for 5 years, where she predominantly focusses on fatigue and psychosocial risk management across Global operations, a role which is in equal parts challenging and rewarding.

With a passion for Health and Safety Management Systems, in particular applying them to the real world for practical implementation, taking on the Rio Tinto psychosocial risk management strategy was a welcome challenge to apply her systems mindset to this complex problem.
